Your OPPO and Computer Have a Connection
·

Our eyes light up when something just works-especially when we talk about technology.

With a snap of the fingers, the device does what our mind tells it to. Efficiency can be exhilarating, and our smartphones and tablets are getting better and better; add a couple of intuitive AI features, and there are fewer tasks they can't complete. However, there comes a time when our portable devices need to connect with their bigger brothers-the computers-to streamline our lives even further.

With the advent of the cloud, a lot of our documents and photos are in ethereal, centralized places. However, there are moments when having a direct connection between the smartphone and computer is more handy. For example, when speed is what you need or even when you just want to mirror your whole OPPO Smartphone on a bigger screen.

Multi-Screen Connect

It's not the first time we've talked about this powerful tool in the name of commodity, but it's one that has evolved so much since 2022 that it changed its name - from OPPO Connect to Multi-Screen Connect.

The first step is to visit the official site and download the executable file for your computer. Believe it or not, that's the hardest part.

After your devices are synced, you can mirror your smartphone's screen in your PC or Laptop, but you can also sync your content: the copied text between your tablet or PC and your media (ColorOS 13.1 or higher): take a photo, video, screenshot, or screen recording on your smartphone and, a little bit like magic, it will appear on your tablet or PC.

There are two more pillars of the Multi-Screen Connect we want to mention, namely, App Relay and Communication Sharing. With the first one, you can use the same application across your phone and tablet. With the former, the communications of your phone are available on your table. SMS, calls, and even Mobile Data are seamlessly shared, so you can be productive without even thinking about available networks.

If you are wondering where to go to download Multi-Screen Connect to your phone or tablet, wonder no more: you don't have to go anywhere because this is all built into your devices.

Link to Windows

You'll need a Microsoft Account, but after that step, it's a seamless experience between your OPPO phone and your Windows device. With the two connected, you can be more productive without even thinking about it.

While you work on your computer, you can cast the phone screen into your desktop and have more refined control of what you do. For example, phone calls and text messages are integrated into your workflow without having to break the flow of what you're doing.

Thanks to this integration with Link to Windows, the apps you have on your device can be opened directly on your computer, and what you copy on one of the screens can be pasted on the other.

One of the best sides of these features is how it makes the PC or Laptop drink from the phone connectivity. This was created for the user to connect to the world - see a number you need to call, do it from your computer, and continue with what you're doing. Done and dusted.

What About the Mac?

We talked about building bridges between your OPPO Smartphone and Windows machines, but you don't have to feel left out if your computer of choice was designed in California.

While it doesn't open the amount of options listed before, you can pair both your devices using a Bluetooth connection. After you establish the connection in the Settings of both, your Android device will be listed in the Devices under the Bluetooth preferences of your Mac.

Please note that not only you should get a prompt with a code to establish the pairing, but you also need to connect after you pair. After this is done, you should open the application Bluetooth File Exchange on your Mac, browse the file you want to send and select your OPPO device from the list. You'll see a pop-up window to accept the transfer on your smartphone, but don't expect earth-shattering transferring speeds.

No Risky Business

As you can see, there are several options to establish a connection between your OPPO Smartphone and your computer, some more useful and less convoluted than others. What we recommend is that you only use methods and applications that come from official brands - OPPO, Microsoft, Google, etc.

The key point is to remember that your files and important information will travel through these communication channels. It's safest to trust only the companies that created your devices. Be cautious of programs that promise the impossible - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

The connection between your OPPO device and a computer is designed to complement your daily tasks. In a fast-changing world, just look at Android File Transfer for macOS, we might soon see even more seamless ways to maintain this bridge.

For now, we hope that at least some of these prove useful. Even if you don't use them every day, it's reassuring to know your devices aren't islands but part of an archipelago of software and hardware working together for you.
