Over the past few years, advances in hardware, along with computational photography and AI processing, have pushed smartphone imaging to the limits of what seems possible. We have never had an easier way to capture our lives, with smartphones now serving not just as the cameras we use most, but as always on hand and instantly ready for every moment we want to hold onto.
Yet as imaging technology becomes more powerful, a more fundamental question matters more than ever: When we take a photo, what are we really trying to preserve?
For most of us, the answer is simple. A photo is a way to keep what we actually saw and how a moment felt. Yet that promise is so often undercut by the very features meant to make our photos better. Oversaturated colors, over-brightened faces, aggressive HDR or excessive sharpening can all gradually warp an image away from the scene it was meant to preserve for us.
With Find X10 Series, OPPO combines industry-leading camera hardware with the next-generation LUMO True Image Engine to help users preserve moments more faithfully, marking a new chapter in OPPO's pursuit of true-to-life imaging.
LUMO True Image Engine includes three key innovations: LUMO Hyper Pixel Engine for more true-to-life detail, LUMO True Color Engine for true-to-life color, and LUMO Natural Tone Engine for true-to-life tones. Working alongside a new-generation camera system co-developed with Hasselblad, Find X10 Series is designed to capture the world as it really is, not as algorithms try to render it.
True Detail: Capture More, Invent Less
True Detail begins with how much genuine detail the camera can capture before processing starts. To capture more optical information at the source, Find X10 features a class-leading Dual 200MP Camera System, while Find X10 Pro Max takes this even further with the industry's first Triple 200MP Camera System. With ultra-high-resolution sensors covering key focal lengths, Find X10 Series captures richer optical detail across a wider range of perspectives, giving the imaging pipeline more to work with from the moment the shutter is pressed.
The new LUMO Hyper Pixel Engine carries that high-resolution capability into everyday shooting. Across focal lengths from ultra-wide to 9.9× zoom, users can capture 26MP images1 by default without switching modes or changing settings. Compared with conventional 12MP output, the additional resolution retains noticeably finer detail, yet keeps file sizes practical enough for daily use.
For photographers who want to push resolution further, Hasselblad Hi-Res Mode extends these advantages across more perspectives. When lighting permits, Find X10 Series can capture 50MP ultra-clear photos at five focal lengths, spanning ultra-wide to telephoto. At the native focal lengths supported by the 200MP sensors, including the main and telephoto cameras on both models and the ultra-wide camera on Find X10 Pro Max, LUMO Hyper Pixel Engine uses multi-frame fusion to produce full-resolution 200MP photos, giving photographers greater flexibility for cropping, enlarging and preserving fine detail.
Beyond resolution, Hyper Pixel Engine also refines how texture is rendered. Drawing on the optical detail already recorded by the sensors, it balances clarity and noise with a lighter touch, reducing the hard edges and artificial textures that can come from heavier sharpening. Portraits receive particular attention, with dedicated processing that keeps skin texture authentic without making it look overly smoothed or sharpened.
True Color: Measure First, Correct Later
Color is one of the most expressive parts of a photograph, and one of the hardest to get right when lighting conditions get complicated.
Find X10 Series features the New-Generation True Color Camera, which combines 24-channel multispectral sensing with DAG and DCG-HDR, delivering up to 15 EV of dynamic range. That wider range allows the camera to capture more complete color data across far more varied conditions, from mixed warm and cool lighting to rapidly changing illumination and strongly backlit sunsets.
This gives the LUMO True Color Engine more accurate source information to work with throughout the imaging pipeline. By combining the physical color data captured by the True Color Camera with OPPO's expertise in color science and perceptual tuning, the engine achieves more precise white balance, establishing a reliable foundation for accurate color reproduction. This is particularly important for familiar colors such as skin tones, skies and foliage, which people instinctively recognize and remember. Rather than boosting saturation for visual impact, LUMO True Color Engine helps reproduce these colors naturally and faithfully to the original scene.
True Tone: Preserving the Logic of Light
Even with detail and color accurately rendered, a photograph can still feel off if its tonal relationships are pushed too far. Aggressive local tone mapping can over-optimize different parts of the frame in isolation. But highlights, midtones and shadows exist in relation to one another, and that contrast gives an image depth, reveals the direction and intensity of the light, and carries much of the atmosphere of the original scene. Treating different areas too independently can weaken those relationships, making a bright sky darker, lifting shadows too far or leaving a face noticeably brighter than the light around it.
With Hasselblad Master Mode, which debuted on Find X7 Series and has continued to evolve ever since, OPPO introduced a more restrained approach to tone processing, reducing aggressive local tone mapping and preserving the original relationship between highlights and shadows. Drawing on that philosophy, OPPO developed the new LUMO Natural Tone Engine for Find X10 Series, using the global tone curve from Hasselblad Master Mode as the new tonal reference in the default auto mode, producing a more linear, softer look. Its redesigned imaging pipeline combines controlled local adjustments with a more unified tonal treatment, helping highlights, midtones and shadows remain connected rather than optimizing different parts of the frame in isolation.
Backlit scenes make that balance particularly important. The face still needs to be visible, but lifting it too far can flatten the contrast that gives the image its shape. With LUMO Natural Tone Engine, Find X10 Series can recover shadow detail and keep subjects clear without pulling the whole frame toward the same brightness, allowing highlights to stay bright and shadows to retain their depth.
Find X10 Series approaches true-to-life imaging as a complete system. New-generation camera hardware captures richer optical information at the source, while LUMO True Image Engine carries that information through the imaging pipeline with three dedicated components: LUMO Hyper Pixel Engine for detail, LUMO True Color Engine for color, and LUMO Natural Tone Engine for tone. Together, hardware innovation and computational photography work toward a simpler goal: helping every photo stay closer to the people, light, color and atmosphere that were actually in front of the camera, and ultimately making every image feel truer to life.
