ColorOS 17: Flow Your Mind with OPPO AI

With ColorOS 17, OPPO AI expands across everyday experiences to make them more personal, proactive and helpful—from helping users complete tasks, to creating content, organizing personal information, anticipating what users may need, and making communication more seamless. Across these experiences, ColorOS 17 brings more integrated AI while maintaining a strong focus on privacy and user control.

Personalized AI That Gets Things Done

Introduced with ColorOS 16, AI Mind Pilot with Ask Mode brought together multiple leading AI models to deliver more relevant, personalized assistance. Drawing on information saved in Mind Space, users can ask questions and get responses from Gemini, Perplexity and ChatGPT that are tailored to their personal context, while comparing results side by side.

Now in ColorOS 17, AI Mind Pilot takes this a step further with the new Agent Mode. Agent Mode can understand what you want to achieve and take action across multiple steps to help complete the task. With your permission, it can work directly with files and photos stored on your phone, understand their content, organize them based on your needs and turn scattered information into something structured and ready to use.

For example, users can ask AI Mind Pilot to organize their files for an upcoming trip. It can find flight itineraries, hotel bookings and attraction tickets, bring them together, rename them based on their content, and use the information to create an itinerary. It can even combine local information with relevant online content to create ready-to-use outputs such as a webpage or presentation. 

The same organizational magic works for photos, too. Users can ask AI Mind Pilot to find photos from a trip and organize them into albums based on places, people or other criteria, making large photo libraries easier to manage and use. And it does not stop at organization: AI Mind Pilot can also turn the right image into something new, such as creating a vlog cover from a favorite travel photo.

Making complex tasks like these feel simple requires powerful agentic AI capabilities behind the scenes. To make this possible, OPPO has worked closely with Manus on deep adaptation for ColorOS 17, bringing its strengths in understanding goals, planning multi-step tasks and carrying them through into AI Mind Pilot in a way that feels naturally integrated with the system.

AI Mind Pilot with Agent Mode will initially support both Manus and ChatGPT, giving users greater flexibility in how they complete different tasks. OPPO will also provide a complimentary usage allowance to help users get started,¹ while users with existing Manus or ChatGPT subscriptions can connect their own accounts and continue using the services available through their current plans.

Getting a photo to look exactly the way you imagine has traditionally meant moving between different tools, adjusting one parameter after another and spending time figuring out how to turn an idea into the finished image. The new AI Photo Agent² is designed to make that process much simpler while keeping your photos true to life.

If you are not sure where to begin, AI Photo Agent can analyze the image and recommend editing directions based on the scene, subject and overall atmosphere. And if you already know what you want, there is no need to work out which tool to use or what adjustments are needed. Simply describe the change in natural language, and AI Photo Agent can work toward the result for you. And if words are not enough, a reference image can show the look or mood you have in mind and let AI Photo Agent recreate that style on your own photo.

Behind this simple experience are six OPPO expert imaging models covering different areas of image editing. With deep system-level optimization from OPPO, AI Photo Agent also helps preserve what matters in the original image. Even after AI editing, photos can retain their ProXDR effect, combining the creative flexibility of AI with natural, high-quality results.

With ColorOS 17, AI fits more naturally into everyday life, making daily tasks and experiences simpler and more efficient—from remembering important content and surfacing timely reminders, to helping conversations flow more naturally across languages.

AI Mind Space serves as a personal information and knowledge hub, helping users capture, organize and revisit the content that matters to them. ColorOS 17 makes that personal knowledge base even more useful with Long-doc Capture, allowing users to save long-form articles stored on the phone in one go and quickly grasp the key information through intelligent summaries. It also supports saving links from platforms including YouTube and TikTok.³ Smart Collections then automatically brings related memories together into organized collections, making them easier to find, revisit and use.

Beyond helping users capture and organize what matters, a more natural AI experience also means bringing useful information and services to users at the right moment. That's where AI Mind Suggest⁴ comes in. By understanding changing context, it can proactively surface relevant information and services when they become useful—bringing up details for an upcoming journey before departure, keeping travel updates and disruption alerts within easy reach, or surfacing personalized recommendations such as music directly on the home screen. Instead of repeatedly opening apps or checking for updates, the information you need can come to you at the moment it matters.

AI can also make everyday communication easier. The upgraded AI Live Interpreter, working together with supported OPPO earbuds, helps make cross-language conversations easier without the need to repeatedly pass a phone back and forth.⁵ Translated speech can be delivered directly through the earbuds while the full conversation remains visible on the phone, helping both sides stay focused on speaking and listening.

And when the information you need is right in front of you, OSee brings together OPPO's visual AI capabilities in one camera-based experience. Whether you want to translate a menu while traveling, turn a paper document into a clean digital scan, or learn more about something you see around you, simply point the camera and press the shutter. OSee can understand what is in front of you and bring up the related information or service, making it easier to move from seeing something to knowing what to do next.

Smarter AI, with Trust Built In

As AI becomes more deeply involved with personal information and everyday tasks, keeping users in control becomes even more important.

AI Mind Pilot with Agent Mode can understand and index files and photos on device, enabling tasks such as finding, organizing and renaming content without sending the original files to third-party AI services. When external upload is required, it asks for the user's explicit authorization first.

For AI experiences that rely on cloud processing, Private Computing Cloud provides an additional layer of protection, keeping personal data inaccessible to third parties, including OPPO. ColorOS 17 further strengthens data transmission security with post-quantum security capabilities designed to protect information moving between the device and the cloud. The new PCC Transparency Report also gives users greater visibility into cloud-based AI processing, including which AI services were used and when operations took place, with reports available to view and export directly from the device.

AI itself can also become part of user protection. With AI Call Guard,⁶ ColorOS 17 uses on-device AI capabilities to identify potential fraud risks, including AI-generated voices and AI face swaps, and alert users when suspicious activity is detected.
