OPPO Inspiration Challenge Winner HUAYI Medical Technologies is awarded SGD$30,000 grants at SLINGSHOT Global Startup Competition in Singapore

November 2, 2023, SINGAPORE — Shenzhen HUAYI Medical Technologies Co., Ltd. (HUAYI), one of the winning teams of the 2023 OPPO Inspiration Challenge, today advanced to the domain finals of the SLINGSHOT, which is held as part of the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) 2023. Jointly organized by Enterprise Singapore and Startup SG, SLINGSHOT is Asia's most exciting deep tech startup competition that provides a platform for early-stage companies to showcase advanced technologies and creative business models to international investors, business leaders, and technology pioneers.

OPPO Inspiration Challenge is one of the partner competitions of SLINGSHOT this year. Sophia Qiao, Head of the Investment Department at OPPO, and Ms Sophia Ng, Executive Director of SWITCH & Startup Development at Enterprise Singapore, presented HUAYI with a grant of SGD 30,000 as a prize for startup from partner competition.

During the event, Tingying Chen, Chief Financial Officer of HUAYI, participated in a three-day Physical Immersion Program before the SLINGSHOT finals where she held in-depth discussions with investors to explore how Singapore's innovation ecosystem could benefit HUAYI’s future growth. HUAYI then presented its Contactless Health Monitoring Technology with WonTrack® technology in the final pitch event, showcasing the continuous monitoring of personal physical indicators that enabling users to stay better informed about the status of their health and the health of their family.

Centered around the two categories of “Inspiration for People” and “Inspiration for the Planet”, the 2023 OPPO Inspiration Challenge began in May this year. A total of 687 innovative proposals were received from 66 countries and regions, with the five global winners announced following the 2023 OPPO Inspiration Challenge Global Final Demo Event held in Singapore on October 18. Alongside HUAYI, the other global winners included Bluepha and its eco-friendly packaging solutions; Ommo Technologies and its permanent magnet-based 3D tracking technology; SkiteLight with its next-generation displays made using perovskite MicroLED; and Woola, a company repurposing surplus wool for protective packaging. Following this year’s competition, OPPO plans to help the winning teams further develop and implement their innovative proposals through financial and other forms of support and collaboration.
