OPPO Unveils Its Next-Generation Foldable Flagship Smartphone Series at INNO Day 2022

London, December 15, 2022 --- OPPO today launched the second generation of its foldable flagship smartphone series – the OPPO Find N2, the successor to the company’s debut foldable phone, the OPPO Find N; and its first flip-style smartphone, the OPPO Find N2 Flip. The newest devices in the Find N series push the boundaries of the foldable smartphone experience, with a thin and light hand feel, almost invisible crease and industry-leading performance. Both smartphones will launch in the China market following the unveiling at INNO Day 2022, while the Find N2 Flip will become OPPO’s first new form factor device to launch in global markets next year.

OPPO Find N2 Flip – An Improved Flip Solution
With the company’s first flip-style foldable smartphone – the OPPO Find N2 Flip – OPPO introduces an improved solution for the most popular style of folding device on the market. After three years of development, the Find N2 Flip solves many pain points of previous flip phones, including:

   ●   The largest cover screen on any flip phone, enhancing users’ experience with a more functional portrait display to perform critical daily tasks like viewing up to six notifications at a time and more easily previewing photos taken by the flagship-level camera system.
   ●   The first flip-style foldable smartphone with all-day battery life, thanks to its 4300mAh battery and custom MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset for improved power consumption.
   ●   The second-generation Flexion Hinge, with an improved waterdrop design that gives the internal display a practically invisible crease.

After launching in China today, OPPO will officially bring the Find N2 Flip to global markets, including most European countries, early next year. More details about the global version of the device will be released then.

OPPO Find N2 – The Industry’s Lightest Horizontally Folding Phone
The OPPO Find N2 is the successor of OPPO’s groundbreaking take on the foldable smartphone, the Find N, which launched at last year’s INNO Day event. Weighing only 233g, the black vegan leather version of the new Find N2 is the lightest horizontally foldable smartphone in the industry, even lighter than some traditional flagship phones. The Find N2 is also very slim, measuring just 14.6mm when closed. Together with the unique landscape ratio of the inner display and full-size outer display inherited from the original Find N, the OPPO Find N2 offers a practical and intuitive experience for everyday use.

Second-Generation Flexion Hinge
This incredibly lightweight design is made possible by OPPO’s dedication to engineering excellence. Based on the first-generation Flexion Hinge, OPPO has created a smaller, thinner and more robust hinge system for the Find N2. The second-generation Flexion Hinge adopts industry-leading materials, including carbon fibre and high-strength alloy used in the aviation industry, and is built from 100 components – 36 fewer than the previous generation. Together with optimisations in the display and the internal structure, the Find N2’s weight has been significantly reduced by 42g compared to the original Find N, without compromising on quality.

The improved structure of the second-generation Flexion Hinge also brings a less invisible crease compared to the previous Find N. The crease along the centre of the Find N2’s inner screen is 67% narrower for a more immersive work and entertainment experience. The improved hinge also gives the Find N2 no gap when the device is closed.

Displays
Carbon fibre has also been incorporated into the Find N2’s inner display, further reducing the weight while making it even stronger. The Find N2 can be folded up to 400,000 times while still functioning well according to TUV lab tests.

Both the outer and inner displays of the Find N2 feature a 120Hz refresh rate. The colour temperature sensors across both displays ensure visuals adjust to reflect the ambient environment with nuance and precision.

The 7.1-inch inner display can reach 1550 nits of peak brightness and comes with an anti-reflection film to improve outdoor visibility for an improved immersive large screen experience. Meanwhile, the 5.54 – inch outer display can reach 1350 nits of peak brightness, and thanks to the improved second-generation Flexion Hinge, the bezel of the outer display has been reduced by 47% compared to the original Find N.

Industry-leading Performance and Versatile Camera for Creation
With the Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform, fast 5G speeds, a big 4520mAh battery and 67W SUPERVOOC, the Find N2 is one of the most powerful and fastest-charging foldable smartphones available.

The Find N2 also comes with a brand-new triple camera system with Hasselblad tuning and OPPO’s powerful MariSilicon X dedicated imaging NPU, plus FlexForm capture for versatile shooting experiences and studio-grade selfies.

It features a 50MP main camera with the Sony IMX890 flagship sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide camera that can also be used as a macro, and a 32MP RGBW 2x telephoto camera that reduces noise for better portraits and zoom.

Customised ColorOS Features for the Foldable Form Factor
The OPPO Find N2 runs customised foldable software based on ColorOS 13, integrating the best of Android 13, for an optimised software experience on a big screen.

OPPO has further enhanced the split-screen experience, including the iconic two-finger split screen gesture introduced on the Find N last year. A two-finger swipe down the middle of the 7.1-inch inner screen quickly and easily activates a split-screen view that takes full advantage of the large display.

When in split-screen view, you can easily take a screenshot of one or both of your apps. A simple three-finger swipe down on the left or right side will screenshot that app, while a three-finger swipe down the middle will capture the entire split-screen view.

To make the most use of FlexForm mode, OPPO also created the FlexForm Space for the Find N2. Just flex the device for one second to enter the FlexForm Space, where you can see your recently used apps, movies and music. The Find N2 turns into a mini laptop, where, for example, you can watch a movie on the top screen while using the bottom screen as a trackpad.
