The Supreme People's Court Confirmed China’s Jurisdiction Over SEP Global Rate Setting Again in the OPPO v Nokia Case
Sep 7, 2022, Beijing – The Supreme People’s Court of China made a final ruling on the jurisdiction of the global licensing fee dispute between OPPO and Nokia, rejecting Nokia's appeal request, and upholding the first-instance ruling made by the Chongqing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court.
After the OPPO v Sharp case, China's top judicial authority has once again clarified the jurisdiction of Chinese courts over the SEP global license fee dispute. It is also the first time that China's top judicial authority has stated its position on the 5G global license dispute.
