OPPO A17 Makes Its Debut With 50MP Camera and 5000mAh Battery

30 September 2022 Singapore – OPPO today introduces the newest addition to its A series family of smartphones, the OPPO A17, in Singapore. Equipped with a 50MP camera and a 5000mAh long-lasting battery life, OPPO A17 ensures an all-round day-to-day smartphone experience.

Stunning design with Premium Leather-feel and Ultra-Slim Body
The A17 inherits OPPO’s Ultra-Slim Retro Design with a flat-edged middle frame and smoothed edges, giving the phone its sleek, premium, and trendy appearance. Weighing approximately 189 g with a thickness of around 8.29 mm, the A17 is easier to hold and operate in any situation.

Coming in two colour finishes, in Lake Blue and Midnight Black, each offers the OPPO A17 a fresh and premium aesthetic. The back cover is made using a composite processing technique, making the phone look and feel like

genuine leather. The inner texture is embossed with light leather grain and the Outer layer is covered with a UV coating, making the phone comfortable to hold, but also dust resistant and durable. 

Outstanding Camera System
For those who love to capture special moments on camera, the OPPO A17 includes a 50MP main camera and a 5MP front camera capable of delivering stunning photos with precision and clarity. The OPPO A17k is equipped with a 5MP front camera and an 8MP main camera that can capture up to 20 continuous shots with a 5x digital zoom.

Powered by advanced hardware, the A17 series comes packed with impressive imaging features. These include 360° Fill Light, Portrait Retouching¹, HDR and other features that enable users to capture clear selfies in dimly lit or backlit surroundings, and enhanced skin textures for more authentic and natural photos.

Long-lasting battery with various power saving features
The OPPO A17 series is equipped with a long-lasting 5,000mAh² large battery that can provide 20 hours of phone calls or 20 hours of average view time on YouTube Video on a full charge³.

For those who use their phone for long periods of time but have no way to charge it during the day, the Super Power Saving Mode on A17 series will kick-in to help maximise every last bit of battery when the battery level drops to 10%, solving user anxiety about battery life.

What’s more, the A17 series is also featuring features Super Nighttime Standby that leverages AI capabilities to learn users’ sleep patterns and reduce power consumption, controlling battery use to within just 2-3% of total capacity during a single night⁴.

All-round performance with RAM Expansion technology and reliable quality
Featuring a MediaTek Helio G35 Mobile Platform, the OPPO A17 provides efficient performance with a CPU speed of up to 2.3 GHz. With OPPO’s RAM Expansion technology, the phone’s RAM capacity⁵ can be expanded by borrowing up to 4GB of unused ROM, allowing the device to run multiple memory-heavy apps with less lag.

The OPPO A17 is built for durability. More than 130 ultra-rigorous reliability tests and 320 comprehensive quality tests are conducted on each A17 phone to verify its resistant to splashes, high temperatures, high humidity, micro-drops, scratches, and other common wear and tear.

Improved security and efficiency with ColorOS 12.1
The OPPO A17 is built for convenience and efficiency with OPPO’s ColorOS 12.1. Three-Finger Translate with Google Lens can quickly translate text in a screenshot into over 100 supported languages. FlexDrop allows users to keep an additional app open in a small floating window, providing more effective multi-tasking when switching between apps. ColorOS 12.1 also includes other security features such as Five-Grade Access Control and Photo Information Protection to help keep sensitive information secure.

Market Availability
The OPPO A17 will be available in Lake Blue and Midnight Black from Monday, 3 October 2022 in Singapore. The 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM model will be priced at $229. It will be available on OPPO’s Lazada, Qoo10, Shopee and TikTok flagship stores, authorised retailers, and partner consumer electronic stores.
