The leading global Smartphone brand OPPO has today launched the OPPO F9 Smartphone into the Kenyan market.
The OPPO F9 comes with the latest super-fast charging technology, VOOC Flash Charge, with a 5-minute charging time for a 2-hour talk time, it also brings gradient colors as well as a unique Waterdrop Screen design that offers elegance, operability, and new vision.
“Today’s customer is an in constant motion. We have therefore developed OPPO F9 to fit in with this nature and lifestyle and to create a new trend in the industry. The device brings to our customers the VOOC Flash Charge - the world’s first low-voltage fast charging technology - symbolizing how OPPO pioneers technology into the market,” said James Irungu, PR and Communications Manager of OPPO Kenya.
Customers are looking for more smartphone functions that meet their specific needs. They want longer battery life, fashionable design, a smooth operating system, and durability.
“We, therefore, designed a phone that offers our customers that optimal services for longer and with it an added advantage of rapid charging technology, voltage protection, dual SIM, great fit to the palm and in sleek colors,” asserted Jesse Wu, OPPO Kenya Brand Manager.
At a time when consumers are looking for specific features in a device, OPPO has designed the revolutionary VOCC Flash Charge Technology (Voltage Open Loop Multi-Step Constant-Current Charging), a technology that has been developed exclusively by and for OPPO.
The VOOC technology applies a low voltage fast charging mechanism to deliver rapid charge at a speed four times faster than the normal conventional charging technology while ensuring a safe charging process with five layers of protection from the charging adapter to the smartphone, including low temperature and voltage.
In addition, the phone comes with a 19.5:9 unique Water-drop Screen design with a ratio of 90.8 percent, a front with a top-notch that hosts the receiver, camera and light sensor for more condensed space and more compact layout, thereby bringing the handset asymmetrical beauty allowing users to view more content on the well displayed 6.23-inch screen.
The device comes to the market in two colors, Sunrise Red and Twilight Blue, OPPO promising Starry Purple before the end of the year, with inspiration coming from nature – sunrise, twilight, and starry skies. OPPO wants to infuse these feelings into the design of the product, to provide consumers with vitality rooted in nature. Moreover, to achieve a unified design, F9 for the first time applies a gradient design on the side frame, making the sides and the back a naturally connected whole.
Boosting of a five-layer protection system the OPPO F9 is ideal for a variety of electric current. The first layer has a sensor that enables the phone to automatically detect the voltage and adjust accordingly. The second layer is through the VOCC Identification built into the adapter, identifying if the device supports flash charging.
The third layer enables overload protection. The fourth layers of the device detect voltage levels to release overload protection and current into the battery. The fifth layer offers the customer a fuse in the device that will cut out any excess current into the phone battery while charging. These layers guarantee security and protection of the phone and the customer.
You can also use your phone while charging and still obtain the same levels of super-fast charging.
Based on Android 8.1, the phone comes in two variants a 4GB RAM and a 6 GB RAM both having a 64GB Storage which can further be expanded with an internal microSD card of up to 256GB. For the first time, OPPO F series is equipped with dual rear cameras (16MP + 2MP) also pioneering the 25MP A.I front camera.
OPPO brings the ColorOS 5.2 Operating System to create a smarter interactive experience for users. The F9 is equipped with the Google Lens that identifies objects and shows relevant search results and information.
VOCC Charging was launched in 2014 and has gained over 500 patents, with the technology in use with over 90 million customers.
The Device has been on pre-order since 10th September 2018 and will officially go on sale on 24th September at a price of 35,990 Ksh for the 4GB version and for the 6GB for 37,990 Ksh. It will also be available in Lipa Later, a credit company that has made it possible for the customer to get the smartphone today and pays for it later in affordable monthly installments. ``
