  • OPPO Reno11 Series First to Flaunt ColorOS 14’s Supercharged Upgrades for Maximum Productivity

        ●    OPPO Reno11 series to be the first to come with ColorOS 14 out of the box
        ●    The OPPO Reno11 Series is slated to launch on 12 Jan 2024

New Delhi, January 8, 2024: The Reno 11 Series comes with OPPO’s new ColorOS 14 operating system, based on Android 14. The new OS introduces an optimised Aquamorphic Design, AI-powered features for improved efficiency, upgraded proprietary technology for ultra-smooth performance, and easy-to-use safety and privacy protection tools. These include LinkBoost for network connectivity in challenging environments, Smart Image Matting that lets you create stickers from photos, and shareable on instant messaging. Both smartphones—the Reno11 and Reno11 Pro—will receive OS upgrades and security fixes for 3 and 4 years, respectively.

More concise and intuitive UI with optimised Aquamorphic Design
Inspired by water, OPPO introduced its Aquamorphic Design—inspired by water—in ColorOS 13. The Reno 11 Series—running ColorOS 14—will see an optimised Aquamorphic Design with new sound effects, colour systems, interactions, and more.

Sound plays a pivotal role in user experience. OPPO has partnered with professional academies to study users’ audio preferences and collaborated with a top sound-design team to bring new sound effects to ColorOS 14; this includes ten sets of Aquamorphic-themed ringtones for calls, alarms and notifications, as well as seven global UI sound designs to provide users with a harmonious audio experience on the OPPO Reno11 devices.

ColorOS 14 features an upgraded Aquamorphic Colouring system that intelligently adapts to the Reno11's status, time, and on-screen content. It matches colours with context to make information receiving and understanding much more effective and intuitive while providing a highly immersive and comfortable user experience.

ColorOS 14’s brand-new Aqua Dynamics design draws inspiration from the structure of solids, liquids, and gases. It allows for more intuitive smartphone interactions in the form of bubbles, capsules, and panels that expand from the status bar to present information in a way that naturally flows and merges with minimal disruption. With Aqua Dynamics, the real-time status of different services can be displayed in different forms in the status bar according to user priorities with minimal disruption at the top of your screen.

The Reno11 Series’ Always-On Display—named Homeland—depicts scenes of wild animals in nature. ColorOS 14 continues to enhance this feature by introducing a new GO Green Always-On Display to raise awareness about climate change and environmental protection to align with OPPO’s belief in “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World.” The Go Green AOD includes three sets of Environment Vision pages with five environment-related animations, each that can change based on the user’s daily step count to show the reduced carbon dioxide emissions from walking instead of taking other forms of transport.

Boosting Efficiency with AI-powered Smart Features
ColorOS 14—and by its virtue, the Reno11 Series—packs impressive AI-powered smart features for improved network optimisation and daily efficiency.

OPPO’s network optimisation engine, LinkBoost delivers up to 73% faster transmission power and 17% stronger reception. It combines AI network selection and a 360-degree surround antenna design on the Reno11 Series for the most stable signal possible with minimum downtime. OPPO has taken LinkBoost even further; it has tuned the technology to get users back online up to 87% faster than the competition after leaving an elevator when in a fast-moving vehicle at a crowded concert or stadium or when underground.

In Imaging, Smart Image Matting is a feature that enables users to crop multiple subjects—persons and animals—out from a single picture or paused video for the first time on any smartphone. It can accurately recognise and cut out complex objects like furry pets or objects against backgrounds with similar colours or in group photos. Cutouts can be viewed and edited in the File Pocket, File Dock, in split-screen mode, and other applications by dragging and dropping, copying and pasting, and more; this makes it super easy and fun to share them in your chats with friends or use them to personalise a wallpaper or poster.

AI-powered Smart Touch enables users to select content like text, images, and videos from the system and third-party apps and collect them on the File Dock or even consolidate them into a single note by simple select and drag gestures.

The new File Dock on the Smart Sidebar allows users to share content across apps easily through split-screen, floating windows, or the Dock itself. Content can be stored automatically in the File Dock and synced across different devices running ColorOS 14 to boost productivity.

Ultra-smooth Performance with Upgraded Trinity Engine
The Trinity Engine in ColorOS 14 enhances the Reno11 Series’ smoothness and stability by efficiently managing computing resources, memory, and storage. The three key features of Trinity Engine include ROM Vitalization, RAM Vitalization, and CPU Vitalization.

The accumulation of photos, videos and other files in a phone’s storage over time tends to cause the phone to slow down as it ages. The ROM Vitalization feature can free up space by compressing app and file data through compression, file defragmentation, and memory acceleration techniques. Two functions—App Compression and File Compression—are provided in the Phone Manager settings. With these, users can manually reduce file duplication, clean up data, and compress infrequently used apps and their data. Through this process, smartphones equipped with ROM Vitalization can save up to 20GB of storage space to help against performance degradation issues caused by long-term smartphone use.

RAM Vitalization accelerates memory performance to boost multi-app efficiency and keep more applications alive in the background. By reconstructing Android's underlying RAM mechanism and using OPPO’s proprietary technologies, RAM Vitalization enhances usage fluidity by 10% and keeps frequently used apps running in the background for up to 72 hours. Users can switch apps more smoothly without facing any lags.

CPU Vitalization is OPPO’s industry-leading system-level computing power scheduling technology. It includes a sophisticated computing power model that precisely schedules power resources while determining the best balance between performance and power consumption for a smoother user experience without draining the battery.

In addition, ColorOS 14 features Smart Charging, an AI algorithm that adjusts the charging current based on the Reno11's usage status to help prevent unnecessary battery wear. Then, there is Arctic Mode to initiate battery heating for faster charging under cooler temperatures, and a new charging management system that you can set to stop charging when the battery level reaches 80% to slow down battery ageing.

Meticulous Safety and Privacy Protection, and Other Features
ColorOS has been recognised by third-party organisations such as ISO, ePrivacy, TrustArc and others. ColorOS 14 integrates the underlying privacy capabilities of Android 14 in the Reno11 Series and introduces a new feature: Picture Keeper. This feature prevents applications from misusing permissions for your photos or videos.

With Picture Keeper, you can set permissions for how each application uses your photos or videos in the Album; this includes a new permission management option for photos and videos called Ask every time’. When enabled, the application must ask for permission in a pop-up window every time it wants to access your photos and videos. When an application requests to use your photos and videos, the permissions pop-up also includes a ‘Select photos and videos’ option for you to select the exact photo or video.

Auto Pixelate is another ColorOS feature that lets users pixelate sensitive information like avatars and nicknames on chat screenshots by using OPPO’s on-device processing and local image recognition technologies. On ColorOS 14, running on the Reno 11 Series, you can now pixelate private information on any picture with just one tap before sharing it with friends.

Last year, OPPO partnered with Snapchat to launch the Bitmoji AOD on ColorOS 13. This smart Always-On Display is fully personalised to your Bitmoji to showcase scenario-based stickers throughout the day, including weather, physical activity, and many more. In ColorOS 14, Snapchat is available through two new features: the Snapchat lock-screen shortcut, and the Snapchat widget for Shelf. Users can now change their lock-screen shortcut to Snapchat for even faster access. Also, the new Snapchat card for Shelf enables users to see updates in messages, status, and location of their closest friends at a glance.
